Garrett first made his presence known playing for the Bobcats in the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons. Roth was a scoring machine for the Bobcats. He still holds the franchise record for All-Time Points, Goals and Assists. Roth lead the Bobcats to their second of Back-to-Back Borne Cup Championships in 2003. Roth has his number 27 retired and a banner hangs in the VFW SportsCenter honoring his accomplishments.
After his time with the Bobcats, Roth went onto play Division 1 Hockey at Bemidji State. He played four seasons with the Beavers. It was in college Roth met former Bobcats Head Coach Layne Sedevie. The two were roommates and became lifelong friends.
In 2010, Roth became the Assistant Coach for the Aberdeen Wings. He spends two years in Aberdeen before getting the call to come home. Roth became the assistant coach and the Director of Player Personnel for the Bobcats under his best friend Layne Sedevie. Roth remained with the Bobcats until he got the chance to become a head coach for the expansion Wichita Falls Warriors. Roth and his Warriors had instant success. Making it to the NAHL Playoffs in their first season. After two years in Wichita Falls the team moved north to Oklahoma City. The Warriors success continued with the team winning their first Robertson Cup in 2023.
Roth once again got the call to come home when his friend, Layne Sedevie stepped down as Head Coach of the Bobcats in the summer of 2024. Roth takes over the bench for the Bobcats as the new Head Coach.
