The 3v3 Hockey League
Mount Clemens Ice Arena
Jun 3 2025 - Weekly
Why 3v3?

3v3 hockey is played cross-ice in each end zone of the rink, with 3 players and 1 goalie on the ice for each team. The small area and fast pace create an ideal environment for players to develop their skills and touch the puck far more frequently than full-ice games.
- Small playing area encourages quick decision-making, agility, and puck control
- It helps players develop core, fundamental skills
- It prepares platers for full ice during the regular season
- It boosts players overall confidence as they can touch the puck far more often
- It enhances hockey sense and play reading
Two games will be played simultaneously at each end of the ice, and all 4 teams will play each other once per session. Dividers will be placed along the blue lines to contain the playing area.
3v3 Gameplay
Teams will play 3 15-minute running-time games per session and will play each team once each week.
- No contact
- Penalties result in a penalty shot
- Last-minute goals count for 2 goals
- 3-minute break between games
